Nvidia has launched its cloud gaming service - GeForce Now - for Chromebooks. If you want to play desktop-level games on your Chromebook without any restrictions then there is nothing better than Nvidia GeForce Now. So yeah, the gaming space on Chromebooks has gotten very exciting in recent days. It is actually a container where Steam runs using the Proton layer and Vulkan graphics API. The project is named “ Borealis” and it has been launched on select Chromebooks.
Google and Valve have worked together to bring Steam natively on a Chromebook. Moreover, there is some good news for Chromebook users. The tutorial also lets you stream Steam games from your local PC and these Chromebook games also come with controller support.

As for how we are able to install Steam and run PC games on Chromebook, well, we are installing the Linux version of Steam and enabling a compatibility layer called Proton (a modified version of Wine) to play AAA titles on Chromebooks.
